Project Engineer for the Defence & Areospace Business Group, engaged on a fixed-tenure basis for two years, with 16 vacancies.

Minimum experience and essential requirements — part 1: Minimum 12 months relevant Work Experience. Essential: a) Basic Knowledge of Control Systems. b) Familiarity in working with various communication protocols. c) Testing & commissioning of Control Systems. d) Minimum 12 months of experience in Erection & commissioning supervision. e) Reading of Drawings, Electrical Schematics, Wiring charts, Hook-up drawings. f) Able to handle various test instruments viz., Calibrator, Analog & Digital

Essential requirements — continuation: Multimeter, etc., g) Willing to work on-board Naval ships in Staggered Shifts in Pan-India. h) Good communication skills and able to handle customers independently.

Qualification

Pay

1st Year: Rs. 84,000/- per month; 2nd Year: Rs. 88,000/- per month. Reimbursement of premium for Mediclaim Policy of Rs. 5 lakhs for self and family (self, spouse and dependent children).

Tenure and posting

BHEL-Electronics Division, Bangalore invites applications for Project Engineers on Fixed Tenure Basis for a period of two years to be posted at Defence and Aerospace Business Group, ESD of BHEL-Electronics Division, Bangalore or anywhere in India as per the requirement.

Vacancy variability

Desirable experience

Desirable: a) Prior experience of Control System Hardware and System Engineering or Shipboard Propulsion Control System / Power Management Systems / Auxiliary Control System / Battle Damage Control Systems. b) Exposure to Setting to Work (STW), Harbour Acceptance Trials (HAT), Sea Acceptance Trials (SAT). c) Prior experience of handling Naval Inspectors / Classification Society (e.g. IRS, ABS, DNV, LRS).

Experience cutoff

Candidates should possess the required Job Specification as on 01.08.2026.

Excluded experience

Candidates not having relevant post qualification experience in areas mentioned under “Details of Experience Requirements” need not apply. (Note: Post qualification experience should be exclusive of Trainee/Apprenticeships period, if any.)

Processing fee and exemptions

A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 236/- is payable by the General, OBC and EWSs candidates. However, SC/ST candidates and Persons with Disability are exempted from paying the processing fee.

Suitable benchmark disabilities

The posts as indicated in the Vacancy details are suitable for Persons with following benchmark Disabilities only viz. Locomotor Disability/ Leprosy Cured/ Dwarfism/ Acid Attack Victim/ Blindness (Single Eye)/ Deaf/ Hard of Hearing/ Speech & Language Disability. However, such eligible candidates will be considered for selection by general standard of merit.

Fixed-tenure appointment

The Appointment Is Purely On Fixed Tenure Basis and It Is Not Against Any Permanent Vacancy. This placement will not entitle any candidate to claim for regular/permanent employment in BHEL in future.
