Age Limit and Relaxation
Age is calculated on 01 August 2026. The post-wise upper limit is 30 or 32 years; the common lower boundary is 18 years. Reserved-category and service relaxations are applied to the relevant post limit, not as a separate universal maximum.

SSC JE Salary and Service Terms
All covered posts are Group B positions in Pay Level 6, carrying a basic pay range of ₹35,400–₹1,12,400, plus admissible central government allowances. Appointees are subject to a two-year probation and all-India service liability. Exact duties and posting conditions depend on the allotted department.
Selection Process and Exam Pattern
- Paper-I computer-based examination — qualifying for shortlisting to Paper-II.
- Paper-II computer-based examination — final merit is prepared from Paper-II marks, subject to eligibility, preferences and document verification.
- Separate merit lists are prepared for JE Civil, JE Electrical & Mechanical, JE Telecom and IMD Scientific Assistant. Minimum qualifying marks are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS and 20% for other categories.

- Complete a fresh One-Time Registration on the new SSC website; an old ssc.nic.in OTR is not valid.
- Log in and open the Junior Engineer Examination, 2026 application.
- Enter personal, educational, category and communication details exactly as supported by your documents.
- Select only those posts and disciplines for which your qualification and required post-qualification experience match the notice.
- Capture the live photograph without cap, mask or spectacles, and upload a clear JPEG signature of 10–20 KB (about 6 cm × 2 cm).
- Pay the fee online if applicable, preview every field and submit before 22 September 2026 at 11:00 PM IST.
