Qualification

MS / M. Sc in Earth Science / Geophysics / Applied Geophysics / Marine Geophysics / Applied Geology / Geology or allied subjects.

Pay

Consolidated emoluments per month: 1] Rs. 30,000/- + 30 % House Rent Allowance; 2] Rs. 37,000/- + 30 % House Rent Allowance to scholars who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests - CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.

Preference

Candidates with seismology experience will be preferred.

Job requirements

Incumbent is expected to assist in seismological data processing and modelling.

Tenure

For a period of 6 months, which may be extended for further period, subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and need for services.

Age relaxation discretion

Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification/s and / or experience/s of the applicant may be considered for applicant/s having qualification and experience higher than the advertised with the prior approval of the competent authority.

Temporary appointment and project termination

The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically without any notice or compensation on termination of the project.

No claim of appointment or absorption

The appointed person shall have no claim of appointment / absorption in Funding Agency or in IISER Pune.

Governing terms

The appointment of the applicant will be governed by the terms and conditions of the funding agency particularly applicable to the said project.

Eligibility determination date

The prescribed date for determining the upper age limit, educational qualifications or experience shall be the last date for submitting applications.

Recognized institutions

The prescribed educational qualification should have been obtained from recognized Universities / Institutions.
