About this post
Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has invited online applications for 8 Production & Commissioning vacancies on contract. The notification is intended for eligible ex-Indian Navy and ex-Indian Coast Guard personnel with the prescribed qualification and post-qualification experience.
For the Production & Commissioning Engineer (Mechanical) role, applicants must hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification and have at least 10 years of post-qualification experience in the operation and maintenance of marine equipment and systems. Experience will be calculated as on 4 September 2026.
The consolidated monthly pay in the first year is ₹69,300, with an annual increase in subsequent years. The contract may continue for up to five years, subject to project requirements and individual performance.
Candidates must complete one-time registration and submit the application through the SAP online portal linked from the Cochin Shipyard careers page. Selection process
- ShortlistingDepending upon the number of online applications received, CSL reserves the right to scrutinise applications and prepare shortlist of candidates based on meeting eligibility requirements ascertained through the certificates uploaded by the applicants in the online application portal and only such shortlisted candidates may be permitted to attend the selection process.
- Certificate VerificationThe candidates shall produce all required certificates in original along with self-attested copies at the time of Certificate Verification failing which they shall not be considered for shortlisting to attend selection process.
- Rank listRank list for the posts shall be prepared based on the marks secured by the candidates in the Selection Process. In case, same marks are secured by more than one candidate, relative merit shall be decided based on seniority in age.
04 How to apply

The application consists of two phases – One time Registration and submission of application against the post applicable. Applicants should not submit more than one application. Application once submitted shall be final.
- 02Submit online
Complete one-time registration on the SAP Online portal and submit the application through the Cochin Shipyard website under Career > CSL, Kochi. The application window is 17 August 2026 to 4 September 2026. Applications sent by any other mode will not be accepted.
- 03Upload certificates and photograph
Applicants should ensure that all certificates towards proof of age, educational qualification, experience, caste and a recent passport size colour photograph are uploaded in the SAP online application portal, failing which their candidature shall not be considered and shall be rejected.
- 04Retain application copy
After applying through online, applicants should retain a soft copy/ printout of the online application containing the unique registration number generated by the system for their reference.

Important official conditions

| Contract tenure | The contract tenure of above post are for a maximum period of five years subject to project requirements and individual performance. |

| Service documents | Applicants should submit Discharge Certificate/ Book/ Pension Payment Order from the Indian Navy & Coast Guard. They should produce experience certificate from the authorities concerned, failing which their candidature shall not be considered. |
