Selection process
- Scrutiny and shortlistingSubject to fulfilling the qualification, applications will be scrutinized and suitable candidates shortlisted. 280 candidates, calculated as 40 eligible applications against each vacancy, will be shortlisted based on percentage of total marks in Matriculation (10th Standard) or equivalent for the objective written examination.
- Shortlisting tie criteriaIf candidates tie on percentage of total marks in the essential examination, the older candidate as on the last date for receipt of applications ranks higher. If marks/percentage and date of birth are both equal, all such candidates may sit the written examination regardless of the prescribed shortlisting limit.
- Objective written examinationWritten examination of 30 minutes duration (40 mintues for candidates eligible for scribes as per para 13), comprising 40 one-mark multiple-choice questions: English Comprehension 10, Hindi Comprehension 10, Food and Nutrition 10, Quantitative Aptitude 5, and Hygiene and Cleanliness 5. One mark is awarded for a correct answer and 1/4 (0.25) mark deducted for an incorrect answer.
- Written examination standard and languagesQuestions will be at matriculation level and papers will be set in Hindi and English only; if the versions differ, the English content prevails. There is no re-evaluation or rechecking.
- Written examination tie breakersTies in written-examination marks are resolved sequentially by older age as on the last application date, higher Food and Nutrition marks, then higher Hygiene and Cleanliness marks.
- Skill Test70 candidates, calculated as 10 eligible candidates per vacancy, will be shortlisted for the Skill Test. It carries 60 marks and evaluates proficiency in Canteen Attendant duties, including beverage preparation, basic food handling skills, preparation techniques, presentation, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Final merit and resultThe final merit list will be based on combined written-examination and skill-test performance. Seven candidates will be selected strictly on merit against available caste-wise vacancies, using a total score out of 100.
